Akanemaru is famous for its classic Osaka souvenir treat, the Five-color Dorayaki as the name suggests, this is a red-bean pancake available in multiple colors. In addition to the many traditional varieties of Dorayaki, another item popular among foreign visitors is the Nama Dorayaki - this is fruit, whipped cream, and plenty of red bean, all sandwiched between fluffy dough (made fresh with a same-day expiry date).
