Together with Kurama nearby, the Kibune Area is an area popular with tourists. The area is otherwise known as Kyoto's living room in the sense of a traditional Japanese house.
A narrow valley sandwiched between Kibuneyama and Kuramayama lined with cooking ryokans (Japanese-style inns). Later in the year, the area sees plenty of riverside cooking for people to escape the humid Kyoto summer.
The fall illuminations and winter scenery are also popular in addition to summer walks and hiking.
