The main shrine of the Kifune Jinja is known best for its water-controlling deity.
To gain favor for the long and healthy life of a child, the shrine is otherwise famous for the tradition of approximately 1,000 children to chant "Osen, Don, Don" while walking around the ship-shaped stone of the rear shrine 3 times, as well as reproductions of the Japanese myth "The Expulsion of Yamata no Orochi", the legendary 8-headed and 8-tailed Japanese dragon.
