A location made powerful by its connection with Ushiwakamaru (otherwise known as Minamoto no Yoshitsune, the military commander of the Minamoto clan) and mythical Tengu spirits.

Known as the training ground for the very same Ushiwakamaru (Minamoto no Yoshitsune) of Gojo Great Bridge fame, the place called "Kurama Mountain" is where legends tell of many historical encounters with Tengu.
The hike from Kurama-dera Temple to the Kifune Jinja Shrine in the early summer is one of Kyoto's more popular courses.
