The main gate to Japan's oldest government recognised brothels can be found in Hanaya-cho street.
It is said that after the war, there were 86 teahouses to be found lining both the left and right sides of beyond the gate.
The two remaining teahouses Sumiya and Wachigaya remain cultural assets to this day.
