Kyoto's most long-established shopping street - a location representative of the city that's also the "Kyoto's longest" in length.
At a total of 800 metres, the arcade is overflowing with around 190 stores, older merchant houses renovated into fashionable cafés, sundries, barbers and hairdressers.
Nijo castle, the Shinsenen temple, and the Nijo Jinya shrine, etc., are all nearby, making the street perfect for a walk or two.
