Yasaka Shrine

A symbol of the city of Gion, popular as a spot for marriages and warding off evil. The Gion main hall is an important cultural asset.

One of Japan's three best festivals, known as the Gion Festival, otherwise known as "Gion-san".
On New Year's Day January 1, held from 5:00AM is the "Okera Matsuri" festival, which we recommend for its air of purity and a new beginning.
