Famous for Kyoto's largest red torii gate.
White sand glitters around a main building of vermilion, and just beyond lie the shrine gardens that radiate with beauty throughout the seasons. There is even a Tsutaya bookstore and Starbucks coffee nearby, which are a perfect compliment for fine weather.
The Jidai Matsuri festival is held every year on October 22, which is famous for being another one of Kyoto's three largest celebrations.
