The fall colors of the Japanese maple leaves gives this temple the alias "Momiji Eikando"
As a result, the temple is well known for some of the best fall leaves in all of Kyoto. The precincts are rich in sightseeing. The appearance of the fall colors near the end of each year is commemorated with the start of illuminations. The beauty of Eikando Zenrin-ji during the day and Eikando Zenrin-ji during the night are both masterpieces of an entirely different but similarly beautiful nature.
We suggests taking a leisurely pace around the precinct to take full advantage of the beautiful new growth at the start of summer.
