An elegant villa that serves as the former home and garden of the Japanese jidaigeki (period film) actor Denjiro Okochi, which he built over the course of his lifetime.
Famous for being one of Arashiyama's bamboo walking courses, the gardens are as spacious and wide as they are mesmerizing.
If you can, we recommend taking a nice long period to relax and soak up as much of the atmosphere as you can, particularly during the off-season.
