Enjoy the colors of each season,
visit World Heritage Sites,
and see the beauty of the bamboo forest of Saga, Arashiyama

Kyoto, a city that represents Japan to its fullest.
Recommended to visitors who want to make the most out of a one-day visit.
This tour has a great list of famous sites of Kyoto. Visitors who travel from Osaka to Arashiyama and Kinkakuji, may find it difficult to travel by train, so leave it all to Explorer Tours.
The beauty of Arashiyama changes with every season. Cherry blossom in spring, deep greenery of summer, colorful autumn foliage, and the white snow of winter, gives Arashiyama a different atmosphere in every season. Enjoy the scenery of the bamboo forest on a sunny day, or even on a cloudy day. Listen to the sounds the bamboos make when a gust of wind blows.
Enjoy the different colors of each season at Tenryuji and Kinkakuji, registered World Heritage Sites.

Togetsukyo Bridge

Originally built over Katsura river around year 840, the name Togetsukyo came from when Emperor Kameyama saw the moon cross the bridge. The current bridge was built in 1934, and is a symbol of Arashiyama.

Tenryu-ji

Founded in 1339, Tenryu-ji was registered as UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994. With an amazing view of Mt.Arashiyama and Mt.Kameyama, and the splendid seasonal landscape of the garden. This is the first place to be registered as Special Scenic Area in Japan.

Bamboo Forest

This area, once loved by nobles, is a path surrounded by bamboos. The path stretches over 400m up the hill as if it was reaching for the skies. Even after 1000 years, this area is still loved by many people today.

Arashiyama Area (lunch)

Arashiyama arcade has over 90 shops. From high-end restaurants, to stylish cafes, and souvenir shops. Classic menus such as udon, soba, sweets, and locally famous food, warm tofu, can be found in the area.

Ninna-ji

Since its establishment in 888, Ninna-ji prospered greatly due to royalty serving their priesthood in this temple. Registered as UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994, you will find Omuro cherry trees that were planted during the Edo period (1603-1868). These cherry blossom trees are lower in height, compared to an average cherry blossom tree.

Golden Pavilion

Founded in 1397, it is said that the structure and garden was designed as a paradise on this world. Registered as UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994, it is possibly the most famous building in Kyoto.
